(15 and a bit adjusted)
Full steam towards talking. It’s amazing to see how they hear us and try to repeat the sounds that come out of our mouths! Our days and hands are full. Full of games, toys, cries, screams, giggles, wrestling, books, laundry, laughter, kisses, hugs and cuddles. I’m loving this new phase in their development. see, most parents of single babies tell me it gets more difficult as they grow up but parents of multiples “know”, for us it gets easier. And it does! As they grow older they might require more attention at some points but they also are a lot more entertained with each other.
We have three toddlers that are often left to their own devices on the ground floor of our home. The gates of the play area are often open and these little monsters have claimed every inch of space given to them lol
They now play together in the see-saw, they push each other in the toy truck, they make each other laugh by throwing food to the dog, they bring dummies to the sister crying, they stroke the hair of the one feeling poorly or tired … but don’t be fooled, they also steal from each other, wrestle, push, shove, pull hair and require a patience of steel not to lose our minds because they just don’t get it yet so there’s no point being mad at them. It’s just so bloody hard to calmly repeat ‘no, that’s naughty…’ ‘no, leave it’… ‘no, get off your sister, you’re hurting her’… over and over… and over!!! Add to that, our lovely Stella barks at us when we tell the girls off! sometimes it’s just a mad house…
So, in good multiples tradition, the highs are even higher and the lows are lower but it’s so obvious that they’re going in the right direction. When not ill or when the weather is normal (i.e. not a heatwave) they’re sleeping well, they’ve got rid of all reflux issues, no more medicines other than Vitamin D, they come when called, they are cute as buttons bringing shoes to adults, they stroke Stella so kindly! It’s quite a miracle 🙂
So, until next time, I leave you a few pictures and videos of the little monsters in action!
